Study Time

Tests are a big part of school. It is important that you make time to study, set out a plan of when and how long you will study for. With a plan you won't feel rushed. It gives you the time to study in parts, allowing your brain to absorb information more easily. Cramming is never a good idea. Especially as an adult, your life is busy and sometimes things come up, if you leave it to the last minute you may not have the proper amount of time to study. Studying under stress also prevents your brain from fully committing things into memory. So take your time, make a plan and give yourself an ample amount of time to study.

Sleep!!

Sleep is very important so don't neglect it. Studies have shown that the brain stores what we have leaned during our sleep. Which means staying up late cramming creates two negatives; one - you won't remember all you have read and two - you'll be really tired when writing your test or while learning in class. Also without proper sleep mixed with all the extra duties you have as an adult student you will eventually burnout. Do yourself a favour and get some sleep, show up to class well rested and ready to learn.

Make a Friend

Exchange contact information with at least one person in class. It's important to attend every class but we all know life happens. Having this contact will come in handy, if you miss a day you can find out what you missed and get a copy of their notes. It also helps to have someone to study with and just having that support system is nice.

Our Education Consultants are here to guide you in the right direction!
