This may sound like a given, but don't just listen to what they have to say, take their stories from their time working in the field and learn from them. They have many skills, tricks, and knowledge that you can benefit from.
Gain Experience Through Your Placement
Make the most out of your placement. Ask questions, get involved and try your hardest. This will not only help you learn all you possibly can but it will also help you get your foot in the door. Networking is a big part of getting hired and if people know your name and like your work ethic you are more likely to get hired.
Ask for Help
If you need help or clarification don't be afraid to ask for help. Don't let your questions pile up or make you feel unconfident, ask right away so you can learn the correct information.
Apply What You Learn
It's always important to apply what you learn, think about how you can use your knowledge once you are in the workplace. Whether it be actual course material, social skills, planning skills etc. Know your strengths and use them to your benefit.
Talk To Recent Grads
You can also benefit from speaking to recent grads. Ask them how they found their current employment and if they have any advice for you. Networking is important and can come in handy in the future.
